State Public Inquiry Line Now Open

Concord, NH: There is now a New Hampshire Public Inquiry Line set up at the State Emergency Operations Center to answer questions in the wake of the tornado and damaging thunderstorms yesterday. Anyone with questions, damage to report, or requests for help is asked to call 1-888-330-6764.

The hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

"We are doing everything we can to assist the victims of yesterday's storms," said Chris Pope, Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, at the New Hampshire Department of Safety, "and we know many people will need help and information so we encourage them to call."

Governor Lynch declared a five-county State of Emergency yesterday to put all possible resources to work responding to the storms. The Governor is also urging anyone who suffered property damage to keep accurate records of all repair costs and to extensively document all damage. The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado did touch down in Deerfield yesterday.
