Project Overview
The C.O.M.P.A.S.S.
Project scope is to provide the citizens of New Hampshire
the capability to renew certain motor vehicle "passenger" registrations
over the internet.
Project Origin
The
project concept originated as part of the Business Requirements
definition task during the development of the new automated
Registration and Title System Project known as MAAP. The
MAAP Project was originated in early 2000, and is scheduled
for implementation in the fall of 2004. As part of his
technology vision, Governor Benson has proclaimed C.O.M.P.A.S.S.
a high priority objective for the State and thus the Division
of Motor Vehicles has accelerated the implementation timeframe
to June 1, 2004.
Project Scope
The
State C.O.M.P.A.S.S. service is available as a statewide program.
Municipalities have the option to join the program on
an individual basis. Visit the web site listed below to
check if your municipality has joined and been implemented
into C.O.M.P.A.S.S.. A list of interested municipalities and
their projected implementation date can be found at Municipalities
Registered to Participate.
Primary Process: As of June 1, 2004,
interested citizens are able to log on the Department
of Motor Vehicles’ web site to perform the transaction.
A credit card payment is required for both the Municipal
and State fees. The citizen will receive a confirmation
number following a successful transaction. The registration
and license plate decals will be mailed to the citizen.
