The Permits and Licensing Unit performs background checks on individuals applying for pistol permits, private investigators licenses, security guards licenses and fireworks permits. The Permits and Licensing Unit also inspects all non-permissible fireworks displays throughout the state as well as inspects construction sites where explosives are used.
