Sobriety Checkpoint Results - Franklin
On Saturday, May 26, 2012 the New Hampshire State Police, Troop D, conducted a Safety and Sobriety Checkpoint on Route 3 adjacent to the CVS Pharmacy and the Franklin Plaza in the City of Franklin. During the checkpoint, State Troopers screened a total of 348 vehicles, which yielded 5 arrests.
The arrests included a motorist for DWI subsequent, prohibitions, Operating After Suspension (subsequent offense) and Breach of Bail, a motorist for DWI, a motorist for Operating After Suspension (subsequent offense), and two motorists for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Drug. All subjects arrested are scheduled for arraignment in the Franklin District Court.
The New Hampshire State Police is committed to taking an aggressive stance in utilizing Safety and Sobriety Checkpoints as a tool to deter, detect, and apprehend persons while driving when intoxicated. New Hampshire has some of the most aggressive laws in the country to fight the intoxicated driver and we are dedicated to using those tools to their full extent to make sure our citizens and visitors are safe when operating their vehicles on our roadways.
