Cheshire County Burglary Investigations
In recent months, State and Local Law Enforcement have been investigating a series of burglaries in Cheshire County. Of note, a potential link has been identified in the suspect's means to enter residences. On three separate occasions, it was reported to Law Enforcement that two persons knock on doors or ring the doorbell, and inquire about a lost dog. If the door is answered, the suspects engage in conversation about the dog, and exit the premises. This type of incident was reported in three separate jurisdictions in Cheshire County.
In one of the incidents, the homeowner described two white males with short buzz cut style hair. Both were described as being in their twenties, and polite in nature once engaged in conversation with the homeowner. Potentially, one of the suspects has a tattoo on his neck.
Police are asking that the public be vigilant in their observations of any suspicious activity of this nature. Specifically, if anyone has been involved in an encounter as described, it is urged that you call your local police department and/or Trooper Aaron Gillis of the New Hampshire State Police, Troop C in Keene, (603) 223-8494.
