Sobriety Checkpoint Results - Holderness
On Friday, 8 June 2012 beginning at 10:00 PM through Saturday, 9 June 2012 at 2:00AM the New Hamshire State Police, Holderness Police Department and the New Hampshire Division of Liquor Enforcement conducted a joint sobriety checkpoint on Route 3 in Holderness, just south of the Golden Pond Country Store.
During the checkpoint, law enforcement officers checked 115 vehicles that traveled through the stations. The officers explained to the drivers that the sobriety checkpoint was the reason they were being stopped. All drivers who were not impaired, continued through the checkpoint after producing their driver's license and motor vehicle registration to the officer. The operation was conducted safely and did not impede the flow of traffic on Route 3.
There were no DWI arrests at the sobriety checkpoint. Two subjects were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Drug. All arrests were made without incident and all subjects were released with a summons to be arraigned in the 2nd Circuit District Division Plymouth Court on June 28 at 8:30 AM.
Based on the success during this operation and our commitment to public safety, the New Hampshire State Police, the Holderness Police Department and the New Hampshire Division of Liquor Enforcement plan on conducting future joint sobriety checkpoints in Holderness.
