New Hampshire Law Enforcement Officers Memorial

CONCORD - On Friday, May 17th, 2013, the New Hampshire Law Enforcement Officers Memorial will be held at the site of the Police Memorial at 10:00 AM. The New Hampshire Police Memorial is located on State Street on the grounds of the Legislative Office Building, behind the State House in Concord. All sworn and civilian members of Law Enforcement, Department of Corrections, the Legislature, the Public, and Media are invited to attend. The program will last approximately one hour. In case of rain, the ceremony will be held inside the State House in Representatives Hall.

The keynote speaker will be Governor Maggie Hassan. An Honorable Roll Call will be read by Attorney General Joseph A. Foster recognizing the names of New Hampshire's 44 fallen police officers. The New Hampshire Police Association Pipes and Drum Band will play popular songs, including Amazing Grace.

This year, the names of 320 officers killed in the line of duty are being added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC. These 320 officers include 119 officers killed in 2012. The remaining 201 names are officers who were killed in previous years but who stories have only recently been uncovered.

The Woodbury Middle School Chorus will sing a medley of songs, along with a musical selection by a portion of the nationally acclaimed Londonderry High School Marching Lancers. The event is being sponsored by the New Hampshire Troopers' Association, the New Hampshire Police Association, the Police Chief's Association of New Hampshire, the Hundred Club of New Hampshire, and the New Hampshire Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial Committee.

The New Hampshire Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial Committee is still seeking donations for the perpetual care fund and donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated.

Checks may be made payable to:
