Indoor Marijuana Cultivation Operation Seized in Thornton
On Monday, January 11, 2010, the New Hampshire State Police–Troop F, assisted by the Thornton Police Department, Plymouth Police Department and Grafton County Sheriff’s Department, executed a search warrant on Holland Trail in Thornton.
Upon executing the search warrant, 170 marijuana plants in various stages of growth were seized. Along with the marijuana plants, approximately 1 pound of marijuana buds, already packaged for sale, were seized. Other evidence seized consisted of electric ballasts, high intensity lights, charcoal venting system, power timers and circulation fans.
Information regarding this operation was gathered by the Plymouth Police Department during the past month. The growing operation had been underway for nearly 6 months prior to it being discovered. The search took place following a short investigation. The marijuana seized during the search had not reached its full yield potential. If these marijuana plants had been harvested to the fullest, the street value would have been worth approximately $50,000.00.
No arrests have been made at this time as the investigation is ongoing. Any persons found to be participants in this operation face felony charges of Manufacturing Marijuana pending an indictment in the Grafton County Superior Court.
Tips should be directed to NH State Police at (603) 846-3333 or (800) NAB-DOPE, or your local police department. Anonymous information should be as detailed as possible.
