The Special Enforcement Unit provides air support to all public safety operations in New Hampshire. The unit has two aircraft, a Cessna airplane and a Bell 407 helicopter, which fly a combined total of approximately 200 missions annually.
The Special Enforcement Unit monitors traffic to enforce motor vehicle laws with the goal of making the highways safer. This is accomplished through use of aircraft, marked cruisers, and unmarked cruisers. Additionally, the unit provides assistance in the area of drug surveillance, searches for missing and wanted individuals, and aerial photography.
The unit is able to respond to nearly every request for service from federal, state, county, or local law enforcement or public safety agencies.
