The Special Enforcement Unit provides air support to all public safety operations in New Hampshire. The Unit has two aircraft, a Cessna airplane and a Bell 407 helicopter. The two aircraft flew a total of 198 missions in 2007.
The Special Enforcement Unit monitors traffic to enforce motor vehicle laws with the goal of making the highways safer. This is accomplished through use of aircraft, marked cruisers, and unmarked cruisers. Additionally, the unit provides assistance in the area of drug surveillance, searches for missing and wanted individuals, and aerial photography.
The unit is able to respond to nearly every request for service from federal, state, county, or local law enforcement or public safety agencies.
