ARTICLE III

ELECTIONS

Section 1. ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS

A. For the election of President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Directors from each troop/bureau/retiree/unit, a Search Committee will be formed. This Committee will be comprised of the Alternate Directors from each troop/bureau/retiree/unit. The Committee will nominate the entire slate of officers from those members interested in obtaining an office. If there is not an alternate from a troop/bureau/retiree/unit, the President will appoint someone from the troop/bureau/retiree/unit to serve on the Committee.

B. Officers will be elected every other year and serve for a two year term. In an election year, the election of officers shall be held during the month of April well in advance of the annual meeting to be held during the second week in May of each year.

C. In the event that more than one is nominated from each troop/bureau/retiree/unit, the names shall appear in alphabetical order on the ballot for the biannual election.

D. During the biannual election in April, the member of each troop/bureau/retiree/unit receiving the second highest number of votes shall be deemed the Alternate Director for that troop/bureau/retiree/unit.

Section 2. TIE VOTE

A. In the event of a tie vote for any office, the current Board of Directors shall determine the office holder.

Section 3. CERTIFICATION OF ELECTION

A. The current Board of Directors shall certify the result of all elections. Term of office for elected officers and directors being two years from date of election.
