Temperino Sworn In As Assistant HSEM Director
CONCORD, NH – Former Plymouth Police Chief Steven Temperino was sworn in this morning by Safety Commissioner John J. Barthelmes as Assistant Director of the NH Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
Director Temperino was nominated to the post by Governor John H. Lynch and was unanimously confirmed by the Executive Council on Jan. 25.
He served with the Plymouth Police Department for 25 years, including the last five years as chief.
He holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of New Hampshire and a B.A. from Plymouth State College. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Director Temperino is a Marine Corps veteran of the Gulf War.
As HSEM Assistant Director, Temperino will be responsible for most of the agency's day-to-day functions, assisting Director Christopher M. Pope. He will serve as commander during activations of the State Emergency Operations Center during disasters.
