Lions Clubs to Assist Tornado Victims
CONCORD, NH – Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) in conjunction with the Lions of District 44-H are providing $10,000 to assist victims of last month’s tornado with essential personal needs and will distribute the aid at the Epsom Fire Station on Saturday, according to a spokesman for the organizations.
Ed Lecius, a director of Lions Club International, said the assistance was requested by District Governor Phil Flynn on behalf of the area Lions Clubs. Vouchers will be issued through local businesses for the purchase of food, water, infant supplies, prescription drugs, clothing, blankets and first aid supplies.
"Lions Club members are pleased to be able to supply this aid to people in tornado-damaged communities," Lecius said.
Lions Club members will distribute the aid on Saturday, Aug. 30, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Epsom Fire Station on Route 4.
Anyone applying for assistance will need to provide proof of residence. Residents of tornado-damaged communities in Belknap, Carroll, Merrimack, Rockingham and Strafford are eligible.
