Squam Lake and Little Squam Lake – Pursuant to RSA 270:1; 270:11,I (b) and Administrative Rule Saf-C 414; a petition was received dated November 28, 2000 from the Squam Lakes Association requesting that an assisted lake protection be established for Little Squam Lake and Squam Lake. The petition was signed by at least twenty-five (25) co-petitioners, supporting the petition. The petition was presented in accordance with administrative rule Saf-C 414.02 and included the required information as described within Saf-C 414.02 (c) (1) through and including Saf-C 414.02,(5)(d). Curtis N. Duclos, Jr., Chief Hearings Examiner, conducted a public hearing on January 12, 2001. Commissioner Richard M. Flynn granted the petition on January 29, 2001.

Braun Bay in Lake Winnipesaukee - Pursuant to RSA 270:12, and Administrative Rule 409; a petition was received on May 4, 2001 dated March 5, 2001 from thirty-seven (37) petitioners requesting a "No Wake Zone" in the northern end of Braun Bay. Curtis N. Duclos, Jr., Chief Hearings Examiner, conducted a public hearing on July 13, 2001 in Moultonborough. Commissioner Richard M. Flynn denied the petition on August 2, 2001.

Rattlesnake Cove, Squam Lake - Pursuant to RSA 270:12, and Administrative Rule 409; a petition was received from forty-one (41) petitioners dated August 19, 2000 requesting a limitation on boat speeds in the cove. The original petitioner was contacted and agreed that the late submission would not allow necessary notifications and scheduling a public hearing before the end of September and arranged to schedule the hearing in July of 2001. Curtis N. Duclos, Jr., Chief Hearings Examiner, conducted a public hearing on July 13, 2001 in Sandwich. Commissioner Richard M. Flynn granted the petition on August 2, 2001.

Lower Beach Pond, Tuftonboro – Pursuant to RSA 270:74-a, and Administrative Rule Saf-C 411; a petition was received dated December 19, 2000 requesting the prohibition of ski craft on Lower Beach Pond in the Town of Tuftonboro. Curtis N. Duclos, Jr. Chief Hearings Examiner, conducted a public hearing on July 16, 2001. Commissioner Richard M. Flynn granted the petition on August 2, 2001.

Sondogardy Pond, Northfield – Pursuant to RSA 270:12, and Administrative Rule 409; a petition was received from twenty-nine (29) petitioners received July 25, 2001 requesting there be a ban against use of any petroleum powered boats and that any electric powered boats not exceed headway speed. Curtis N. Duclos, Jr. Chief Hearings Examiner, conducted a public hearing on August 17, 2001 in Northfield. Commissioner Richard M. Flynn denied the petition on September 18, 2001.

Conner Pond, Ossipee – Pursuant to RSA 270:12, and Administrative Rule 409; a petition was received from thirty (30) petitioners received August 28, 2001 requesting there be a ban against use of any petroleum powered boats and that any electric powered boats not exceed five (5) miles-per-hour. Curtis N. Duclos, Jr. Chief Hearings Examiner, conducted a public hearing on September 21, 2001 in Center Ossipee. With an amendment for enforcement purposes (a headway speed limitation changed to a no wake restriction) Commissioner Richard M. Flynn granted the petition on October 3, 2001. [Motion & Response].

Lake Sunapee, Newbury – Pursuant to RSA 270:12, and Administrative Rule 409; a petition was received from forty-two (42) petitioners received September 11, 2001 requesting the location of "No Wake" buoy(s) at the southern end of the lake. The reasons explained for safety concerns near a public dock, and swimming area and also a public fuel pump for boats and a mooring field. Curtis N. Duclos, Jr. Chief Hearings Examiner, conducted a public hearing on September 28, 2001 in Newbury, NH. Commissioner Richard M. Flynn granted the petition on October 9, 2001.
