Course Name: (EVDT) Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (VFIS & NHFA Curriculum) National Recognition
Career Track: All Firefighters & EMS personnel that may drive
Hours: 8 classroom, 8 structured driving AND 10 with department apparatus within 60 days of class
Description: Student will learn basic safety requirements, minor preventive maintenance, vehicle check procedures, and basic vehicle operation. The student will also participate in various driving scenarios to demonstrate competency in vehicle operation.
Prerequisites: Current driver's license
Equipment: Sponsor department will need to provide apparatus for each 2 people driving in structured driving day
Class size: 20 Classroom and 12 maximum for practical-each day (minimums apply)

Course Name: Driver/Operator-Pumping Apparatus (non-certified)
Career Track: Firefighter
Hours: 16
Description: Student will learn basic safety requirements, preventive maintenance, pump check procedures, and basic pump operations such as an understanding of friction loss, pumping capacities, static versus pressurized supply systems, and hydraulics. The student will also participate in various pumping scenarios to demonstrate competency in operating pumps.
Prerequisites: Current driver's license
Equipment needed: Sponsor department will need to provide pumping apparatus for practical evolutions
Class size: 12 Maximum (minimums apply)

Course Name: Driver/Operator- Pumping Apparatus (Certified meets or exceeds NFPA 1002)
Career Track: Firefighter, Company Officer, Chief Officer
Hours: 40
Description: Student will learn basic safety requirements, preventive maintenance, pump check procedures, and basic pump operations such as an understanding of friction loss, pumping capacities and static versus pressurized supply systems. The student will also participate in various pumping scenarios.
Prerequisites: Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT) and Firefighter I OR Driver/Operator-All Vehicle (DOAV)
Equipment needed: Sponsor department will need to provide pumping apparatus for practical evolutions
Class size: 12 (minimums apply)

Course Name: Driver/Operator-Aerial Apparatus (Certified, meets or exceeds NFPA 1002)
Career Track: Firefighter, Company Officer, Chief Officer
Hours: 24 and additional hours driving and set-up time required on department aerial apparatus
Description: Student will learn basic safety requirements, preventive maintenance, safety check procedures, and basic aerial operations such as an understanding of apparatus type, placement, jacking requirements, and safety parameters. The student will also participate in various driving and aerial placement scenarios to demonstrate competency in aerial operations.
Prerequisites: Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT) and Firefighter I OR Driver/Operator-All Vehicle (DOAV)
Equipment Sponsor department will need to provide pumping apparatus for practical evolutions
