Bureau Chief Dennis Rosolen is responsible for overseeing the Bureau of Training and Certification and its various functions. These include all firefighter training and certification testing. The Bureau is also responsible for national accreditation, promotional examinations for fire departments, and the State Entrance Examination generating the eligibility list for hire of full time firefighters. It also includes Instructor certification, courses on campus and in the field, visiting committees for curriculum update and new programs, and maintaining NFPA standards. Other duties of the Bureau are aircraft rescue and firefighting, rescue certification, hazardous materials training, training for terrorism and weapons of mass destruction, incident command, fire officer training, wildland firefighting, driver operator pump and aerial, and National Fire Academy programs.
