Lee Gardner, Forest Ranger is working with our Survey and Graphics Session to develop new maps for our fire towers and to try to streamline the process for Forest Fire Warden grid maps.

Retired Forest Ranger, Clark Davis, was hired January 5, 1998 as the new Executive Director for the Northeastern Compact (New England States and National Forests, New York, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia). Congratulations Clark, we look forward to working with you in your new role.

Chief Bud Nelson is now the Chair of the Eastern Area Coordinating Group (20 Northeast states, National Forests, Parks & Fish & Wildlife Services). The EACG manages our area incident management team and works with the other geographic areas to help formulate national fire policies.

New Hampshire Fire Service to the Rescue:

Literally hundreds of New Hampshire firefighters responded to the public’s call for assistance during the recent winter storm emergency. The Division of Forests and Lands, through the local mutual aid systems and fire departments, had crews working from Keene to Conway clearing roads for emergency equipment and utility crews. Our deepest thanks for all of your time and effort. The citizens of New Hampshire and we thank you!

Our Spring Forest fire training schedule will be out soon. We again plan on sessions scattered around the state. Anyone is welcome to attend these training sessions.
