FDIC PROGRAM RETURNS TO INDIANAPOLIS
MARCH 16-22, 1998
(Saddle Brook, NJ) - Celebrating its 70th anniversary, the FDIC returns to the Indiana Convention Center and RCA Dome March 16-March 22, 1998. Emphasizing a belief that the fire service lives and dies by its competency in the basics, the 1998 FDIC program stresses the fundamental qualities demanded at every level of operation within the fire department.
Last year’s FDIC program was ignited by the introduction of H.O.T. Tuesday, a full day of intensive hands-on training workshops. Due to its rousing success and the enthusiastic response from attendees, the 1998 H.O.T. program has been extended to two days. The diverse curriculum has also expanded to include a special FAA certified burn class for ARFF members and classroom sessions have been added for aircraft firefighters and structural firefighters that respond to airports.
The Main Program once again features a lineup of speakers with the experience and knowledge necessary to effectively educate firefighting personnel. Over 100 classroom sessions will take place, and this year FDIC has improved upon the concept of "Take Home Information." Classroom-session attendees will receive course materials to enhance and expand departmental and company training as well as individual learning.
FDIC Exhibits return with over 650 vendors representing the leading names in firefighting equipment, tools, and services. At "Qualifying Sunday," the final day of exhibits, attendees have the opportunity to win thousands of dollars in prizes, including a fully loaded Chevy pickup.
In conjunction with PennWell Publishing and Fire Engineering magazine, FDIC 98 is destined to succeed in its mission of providing fire departments with tools for success and reenergizing their commitments to the very serious and demanding job of firefighting and fire safety.
