The New Hampshire Legislature encourages the use and availability of AED’s throughout the state. AED statutes enacted in July 2002 encourage the access to AED’s be made wide available to businesses, schools, public safety agencies and both public and private organizations within New Hampshire.
Public Access Defibrillation in New Hampshire Schools is a resource document developed by the NH Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and the EMS for Children Project at Dartmouth Medical School outlining the benefits of AED’s in our schools.
The AED Commission, established by the Legislature in July 2007, has been formed to promote public and private partnerships encouraging school placement, training and maintenance of AED’s throughout the state.
Currently the Commission’s AED Schools Project is an on-going effort to provide AED device funding for local schools through an application process. The emphasis on the project is to encourage schools to develop and implement AED usage as part of local school emergency response plans.
