Welcome to the Fireworks Safety and Enforcement Unit. Fireworks enforcement in New Hampshire is a cooperative effort between the Office of the State Fire Marshal and our local fire and police departments. Members of the State Fire Marshal’s Office conduct enforcement activities throughout the state and issue the permits and licenses for the manufacture, transportation, storage, handling and display of fireworks, pyrotechnics, flame and special effects.
The Fireworks Safety and Enforcement Unit is also responsible for working closely with the Permissible Fireworks Advisory Committee, administering the list of communities which have restricted the sale, possession or display of Permissible Fireworks. Fire Investigators are available to conduct public education for community police/fire service agencies and for the general public relative to fireworks laws.
Explosive Magazine permits are still issued by the NH State Police – Permits and Licensing Unit and can be reached at (603) 223-3873, or [email protected]
If you have a question, you can contact the unit by calling (603) 223-4289 or you can email us at [email protected]
