Review Committee

The New Hampshire Permissible Fireworks Review Committee is a statutorily State appointed committee responsible for testing, reviewing, and recommending the approval of individual pyrotechnic devices. This approval includes the submission of a completed application package provided by individual members of the fireworks industry. Individual devices are then tested during the annual meeting.

The Permissible Fireworks Review Committee is comprised of nine (9) members and one (1) alternate who represent the New Hampshire Senate, House of Representatives, State Police, State Fire Marshal’s Office, New Hampshire Association of Fire Chiefs, and local fireworks retailers. The Permissible Fireworks Review Committee conducts its annual review and testing of individual devices prior to October 1st of the calendar year, at the New Hampshire Fire Academy, 222 Sheep Davis Road, Route 106, Concord, NH. The annual review and testing is open to the public and other interested parties.

Once the process is complete, items which have passed the committee’s review are forwarded to the Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Safety for approval. Once approved by the Commissioner, these items are added to the New Hampshire Approved Permissible Fireworks List Adobe Acrobat Reader Symbol. The Approved New Hampshire Fireworks List is maintained by the Office of the State Fire Marshal and is available upon request.
