Welcome to the Fireworks Section of the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office. Permissible Fireworks enforcement in New Hampshire is a cooperative effort between the New Hampshire State Police and the Office of the State Fire Marshal. Members of the State Fire Marshal’s Office conduct enforcement throughout the state’s licensed retail stores on a regular basis inspecting for life safety and fireworks law compliance.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is also responsible for working closely with the State Permissible Fireworks Advisory Committee, administering the list of communities which have restricted the possession or display of Permissible Fireworks. In addition, the State Fire Marshal’s Office is responsible for permitting and inspecting the use of pyrotechnics before a proximate audience. Fire Investigators are available to conduct public education for community police/ fire service agencies and for the general public relative to the Permissible Fireworks Laws.
Permissible Fireworks Sale Licenses are issued by the New Hampshire State Police, Permits and Licensing Unit and can be reached at (603) 223-3873.
