NH Board of Fire Control
Established in 1947, the Board of Fire Control was developed to provide technical expertise and advice to the State Fire Marshal. |
NH Heating Technician Certification Advisory Committee
Established in 2003 under Senate Bill 60-FN, this Committee is charged with providing advice to the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office on the development of rules for the voluntary certification of Heating Technicians under RSA 153:16-b. Rules for this program were approved in June of 2006. Implementation of the program is slated to begin in September of 2006. This Committee was also charged with assisting in developing rules for the mandatory certification of Gas Fitters under Amilia’s Law. |
NH Fire Protection Equipment Technician Certification Advisory Committee
Established in 2004 under Senate Bill 355, this Committee is charged with providing advice to the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office on the development of rules for the voluntary certification of Fire Protection Technicians. The original bill named the committee the Advisory Committee on Portable Fire Extinguisher and Fixed Fire Extinguishing Systems, Fire Sprinkler Systems, and Fire Alarm and Detection Systems. In their innaugural meeting, the Committee voted to shorten the name to the NH Fire Protection Technician Certification Advisory Committee. Rules for the implementation of this program are slated for approval in late 2006 early 2007. |
NH Fire Standards and Training Commission
The NH Division of Fire Standards and Training and Emergency Medical Services is the primary agency that is affiliated with the NH Fire Standards and Training Commission. The Division of Fire Safety holds a seat on the commission and is actively involved in the development of fire prevention and fire investigation curricula. |
NH Swiftwater Rescue Working Group
The NH State Fire Marshal's Office in concert with the NH Fish & Game Department have been working with the NH Swiftwater Rescue Working group to assess and improve the swiftwater rescue capabilities in the state.
