The Intermediate Rider Course (IRC) is a one day refresher course and is a continuation of the Basic Rider Course. The IRC is designed for riders who have completed a Basic Rider Course within the past year and who want more practice on the motorcycle. There is no classroom portion in the IRC, the entire class is spent riding on the motorcycles.
Students take a riding evaluation as part of the course. Students who complete the course and pass the riding evaluation receive a completion card which will waive the motorcycle skills test given at the DMV for a motorcycle endorsement for up to one year.
Motorcycles and helmets are provided, but students are responsible for providing the following protective clothing: eye protection, gloves, boots that cover the ankles, sturdy pants and a jacket.
Students who do not arrive on time for any portion of the course will not be allowed to continue the course, and will not be refunded.

Once I Pass the Course …
Students will take riding evaluation during the course. If the student passes this evaluation, he or she will receive a New Hampshire Motorcycle Rider Training Program completion card. The student can take that completion card to the DMV within one year and receive a motorcycle endorsement on their driver license.
If I Fail the Course …
Many students choose to take the IRC multiple times. As long as the student remains eligible for the class and does not present a hazard on the range he or she can repeat the class. Students who require extensive additional practice are recommended to take the Basic Rider Course again.
