The New Hampshire D.A.R.E. Board of Directors authorized the purchase
of a set of Fatal Vision Goggles. These can be used in classrooms to show
the students the effects of different levels of alcohol impairment on vision. There are 6 pairs of goggles - four are daylight/clear plastic
and range from low (.06) to extreme (.25), two are nighttime/tinted
goggles. These are a powerful tool to use in the classroom
in support of the D.A.R.E. message. These are not part of a D.A.R.E. lesson, but
can give hands-on reinforcement to the alcohol lesson.
If you would like
to borrow the googles, please contact TFC Maureen E. Steer at 271-2877. They will
be loaned on a first-come/first-serve basis at no charge. The officer will
sign for them and arragements can be made to have them relayed. We are also working
on putting together a list of agencies that have the goggles and are willing
to loan them out. We will keep you posted.
