The Department of Safety is dedicated in protecting life and property and enhancing public safety. One of the Department of Safety's many responsibilities is the commissioning of railroad police officers, a specialized law enforcement agent. To meet our mission, we pledge to enforce the standards for commissioning and decommissioning railroad police in a manner consistent with the law.
