Linda McNair-Perry, P.E., SECB, is a licensed professional engineer in New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont and Rhode Island along with some southern states and is certified in the practice of Structural Engineering through the Structural Engineering Certification Board (SECB). Currently, Linda is working in Portsmouth, NH, as the Structural Building Group Manager with Hoyle, Tanner & Associates, Inc.
Since graduating from Carnegie-Mellon University (CMU) in 1980 with a B.S. of Civil Engineering, her career has been focused on the practice of structural engineering. She has over 30 years of experience in the design and construction administration of projects utilizing structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, wood and cold-formed steel framing. In addition to new construction, Ms. McNair-Perry has also been involved in existing conditions assessments, provided forensic engineering and offered expert opinions.
Linda has been an active member of the Structural Engineers of New Hampshire (SENH) since 1994 and served on their Board of Directors from 2004 to 2008, with the last two years as President. She has also served on SENH Nomination and Special Inspections Committees and is currently serving as the SENH Liaison to the University of New Hampshire. Linda is also a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and the Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute (CFSEI).
In 2009, Ms. McNair-Perry received an Outstanding Service Award by the Board of Directors of SENH for her long-term dedication to the organization and for the advancement of the Structural Engineering profession in New Hampshire. As the 2012 recipient of the NH Joint Engineering Societies Engineer of the Year Award, she was recognized for her professional achievements, volunteerism in the engineering community, mentoring of structural engineering students and community involvement. In 2013, she received the Outstanding Alumni Service Award from CMU's College of Civil and Environmental Engineering based on her sustained contributions to the engineering profession.
Ms. McNair-Perry was first appointed to the State Building Code Review Board by the NH Board of Professional Engineers in 2010 and reappointed in 2013. She represents the structural engineering community on the board focused on promoting public safety in the State of New Hampshire. Linda served as the Vice-Chair of the State Building Code Review Board in 2012 and 2013.
