Welcome

Welcome to ReadyNH, New Hampshire's emergency preparedness website. The materials presented here are intended to help individuals, families, businesses and other organizations prepare for emergencies.

The rain and generally gloomy start to May has lessened the wildland fire danger, but the rain has not been enough to alleviate the beginnings of drought conditions in the state. Rainfall for the year is still well below normal and the danger of wildland fires can quickly return after a few dry days.

Water temperatures remain cold in the state's waterways. Boaters need to take precautions while on the water. Anyone who falls in will only have a few moments before hypothermia sets in. See the N.H. Marine Patrol news release below for more information.

Governor Lynch has proclaimed May as Motorcycle Awareness and Safety Month. The riding season is getting started and motocycles are an increasingly popular means of transportation for commuting, touring and recreational use. The Governor urges motorcycle riders to get training to operate in a safe manner. And for other motorists to watch out for motorcycles on New Hampshire's roads.
