Veterinary Education Program


Law (RSA 200-J:1-4

Purpose:   Promote access to institutions, currently Tufts and Cornell Universities, offering programs in veterinary medicine.

Eligibility Criteria: Be a NH resident as determined by completion of Residency Form (download Residency Form) adobe acrobat; Tufts University is based on need; Cornell University is based on merit.

Award: $12,000 per year paid directly to institution

Q: If I was a resident of NH and graduated from a NH high school, but got my undergraduate education at an out-of-state college, am I still considered a NH resident?
A: “New Hampshire resident" shall include any student who graduated from a NH high school in the past 6 years.
Q: Can this award be used at a school other than Tufts University or Cornell University?
A: No. At the present time, the only schools the State of New Hampshire has capitation agreements are Tufts and Cornell Universities.
Q: Do I get the full amount of the capitation award that is made to the institution?
A: The institution will determine the amount of financial aid that you are eligible to receive based on information that you provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
