Respondent

Case No. A-0579
Decision No.  97-013

ORDER ON MOTION TO CONTINUE AND ORDER ON
MOTION FOR LEAVE TO AMEND ORIGINAL PETITION

The parties appeared before the undersigned hearing officer on October 25, 1996, and on December 11, 1996, for a determination on a Petition for Certification of a bargaining unit of Litchfield town employees. At the conclusion of the second day of testimony the record remained open:

1. At hearing, the Union moved a continuance for the taking of testimony from a witness who was unavailable because of illness. The motion was held in abeyance.

2. Subsequently, the Union filed a Petition for Leave to Amend Original Petition for Certification
with interest cards on December 23, 1996 and the Town responded with its objections on January 7, 1997.

The Motion for Continuance and the Motion for Leave to Amend Original Petition for Certification are GRANTED. Notice of the rescheduled hearing shall be sent under separate cover. Testimony at the hearing shall be limited to that from the previously unavailable witness and testimony relating to the two additional positions under consideration named in the Union's Motion for Leave to Amend.

So ordered.

Signed this 24th day of January, 1997.
