Publication Title: Functions and Values of Forested/Scrub-Shrub Wetlands: Research Summary. 1995. Office of State Planning, New Hampshire Coastal Program. Concord NH. 28 pp. Contact: Christine Rowinski, Principal Planner, NHCP (603) 271-2155 Report Summary: Report contains a scientific review of literature related to certain forested/shrub wetland types which are found in New Hampshire. Specifically, the literature review focuses on Red Maple (Acer rubrum) Swamps, Atlantic White Cedar (Chamaecyparis thyoides) Swamps, and scrub-shrub swamps. The goal of this research was to search for and compile scientific data that could aid the Wetlands Bureau in developing evaluation criteria for assessing impacts to the state's forested/scrub-shrub wetlands. The results of the literature review are presented in terms of those wetland functions and values which the State's wetlands statute and Wetlands Board Administrative Rules recognize as important.
