High energy costs have long been a problem faced by New Hampshire businesses as they struggle to keep their competitive edge in the global market. The State of New Hampshire provides energy efficiency education, training, and technical assistance to businesses through two programs:
Industrial Assessment Centers
Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst provides no-cost energy efficiency analysis of their plant and process operations. Referrals are coordinated through the NH Department of Resources and Economic Development and the WasteCap Resource Conservation Network. Industrial assessments assist manufacturers’ cost reduction programs by reducing energy use, minimizing manufacturing waste, and improving manufacturing productivity.
Industries of the Future
Helping businesses to create strategies in such critical problem areas as energy efficiency, productivity improvement, waste reduction and environmental issues, the NH Industries of the Future Program (NHIOF) is operated by the NH Department of Resources and Economic Development and the WasteCap Resource Conservation Network.
