Training

As per RSA 673:3-a, OEP holds conferences twice each year - one in the spring and one in the fall - to provide training opportunities for new and old board members alike. The conferences have specific tracks for planning board basics and zoning board basics to provide new board members a solid initial understanding of their respective roles. The spring conference is larger with many additional tracks covering a wide range of topics while the fall conference is more traditionally focused on a particular planning topic or subject with fewer separate tracks. The conferences are very popular and often fill up. When registration is announced, board members interested in attending are urged to sign up right away. Conference materials are sent to each Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment chair in the state about two months ahead of time and are announced on the web site.
