“It is time for New Hampshire to act to help secure our energy future." Gov. John Lynch

What is 25 x ‘25?

Governor John Lynch announced the 25 x ‘25 Renewable Energy Initiative in August of 2006.  The goal of 25 x ‘25 is for New Hampshire to obtain 25% of its energy from clean, renewable sources by the year 2025.

“It’s time to use our know-how and resources here in New Hampshire to reduce our dependence on foreign oil and to build a stronger economy by leading the world in the creation of new, clean energy,” Governor Lynch stated.

“It is time for New Hampshire to act to help secure our energy future.  That is why as a state we should set a goal of ensuring that at least 25 percent of New Hampshire’s energy comes from renewable sources by 2025,” Governor Lynch said.

Governor Lynch has joined governors of both parties and business leaders from across the nation in endorsing 25 x '25, a national effort aimed at producing 25 percent of the energy consumed in the United States from clean, renewable power by the year 2025.

New Hampshire’s 25 x ‘25 Plan is being jointly developed by the Office of Energy and Planning and the Department of Environmental Services.
