Commute Green New Hampshire - Bike to Work Week May 13th - 17th

Commute Green New Hampshire (CGNH) is a partnership of groups dedicated to and assisting people to choose "green" transportation options rather than driving alone. State Government Efforts to Reduce Energy Recognized

CONCORD -On Friday, April 19th at the Annual State Energy Conference the Governor's Excellence in Energy Efficiency Awards were presented to the Police Standards and Training Council, state employee Jim Poisson of the Department of Environmental Services (DES), and the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery. Presenting the awards were NHDES Commissioner Tom Burack and Administrative Services Deputy Commissioner Mike Connor. The conference is held annually for state agency energy coordinators and facility managers, as well as other state employees interested in reducing energy use and energy costs. more...

New Hampshire CORE Utilities receive ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year award!

The NH utilities are being recognized for recognition for their successful implementation Adobe Acrobat Reader Symbol of the ENERGY STAR Certified Homes and Home Performance with ENERGY STAR (HPwES) programs. Key 2012 accomplishments included:

  • Providing incentives for nearly 550 ENERGY STAR certified homes
  • Completing over 808 HPwES projects and conducting 223 quality assurance inspections for a total of more than 2,200 improved homes and 653 quality assurance inspections since the program’s inception in 2009
  • Saving 13.7 million kWhs and more than 347,500 MMBTUs from oil, natural gas, kerosene, coal, and wood since the inception of the program
  • Growing the local HPwES participating contractor network to 26 certified contractors from six BPI certified contractors in 2009
  • Holding 10 Energy Code Training Sessions that included a section on building to ENERGY STAR guidelines and were attended by over 400 builders, homeowners, real estate agents, HVAC contractors, and other industry professionals.

$1 million loan from EAP is an option to help TCCAP

Writing special legislation to authorize a one-time $1 million long-term loan from the Electric Assistance Program (EAP) to help Tri-County Community Action Program (TCCAP) is under discussion as a potential way to solve the agency's oft-reported cash-flow problems.

Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Energy (EESE) Board calls for comprehensive energy policy highlighting energy efficiency and local renewable resources

New Hampshire's Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Energy (EESE) Board, in its Final Report and recommendations on the Independent Energy Study, released December 1, 2012, is calling for a comprehensive energy policy for the state that highlights the critical role of energy efficiency and local renewable resources in the state's energy future. The Report details the most important steps that state can and should take to implement policies and enhance programs that will contribute to economic development, increased resilience and security of energy supply and a cleaner environment. Five Year Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan Released

(Concord, NH - January 3, 2013) The New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation in cooperation with the Office of Energy and Planning (OEP) has released the 2013-2018 Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP). The State is required to produce a plan every five years to comply with National Park Service requirements to remain eligible to receive federal Land and Water Conservation Fund grant funding. more...
