OEP Welcomes New Staff

The Office of Energy and Planning has hired several new employees to fill the Grants Manager, Senior Planner and Administrative Secretary positions.

Mark Toussaint will be our new Grants Manager to replace Jim Taylor. Mark was formerly the Executive Director of the WasteCap program at the Business and Industry Association (BIA). WasteCap provides consulting services to help businesses and industry reduce waste streams, achieve energy savings, and conserve water. The WasteCap program has received considerable funding from OEP for several years and has served as our partner, and DRED’s, in implementing the state’s industrial energy efficiency program. Mark has strong grant-writing, fiscal, and computer skills.

Jennifer Czysz will be our new Senior Planner replacing Ben Frost. Jen is currently a Planner with Southern NH Regional Planning Commission. She started her career as an architect and then went on to earn a master’s degree in planning from MIT. She has extensive experience in creating local and regional master plans. She has expertise in preparing local hazard mitigation and emergency operations plans, has administered a regional National Flood Insurance Program, and currently serves as the Public Information Officer for the NH Planner’s Association. Her start date will be August 28.

Michele Zydel has been hired as our new Administrative Secretary to replace Denise Adjutant. Michele comes to us from the private sector, where she has worked as an administrative assistant for high tech companies for more than two decades. Michele will bring many talents to this position, among them strong organizational and writing skills. She is very technology savvy and is skilled in word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
