Position: Energy Efficiency Specialist
Agency: NH Office of Energy and Planning
Description:

OEP advises the Governor on energy-related matters, and helps to guide and shape the state's energy policies. OEP also promotes energy efficiency and renewable energy by providing information and technical assistance to other state agencies, town planners, the media, the general public, businesses and industry. This new position will enhance the State's ability to reduce its own energy expenditures and develop opportunities to increase its use of renewable energy. The position entails working closely with the State Energy Manager to evaluate and interpret energy consumption data, design and implement energy efficiency programs/projects for state agencies; providing technical assistance to state agencies as well as towns and schools; and representing the agency at public forums and in meetings or other communications with state agencies, elected officials, business and industry, and other members of the public.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with major in engineering or building sciences.  Ideal candidate will be a certified energy manager (CEM) with an undergraduate engineering degree.  Candidates with equivalent education and expertise will be considered.   Personal commitment to clean energy, efficient energy use and consumer protection desired.

Salary: This is a full-time, non-classified position. The Energy Efficiency Specialist serves at the pleasure of the Governor. Salary range is $44,000 - $50,000. The State of New Hampshire offers a generous benefits package including health and dental insurance, a retirement plan, a deferred compensation plan, and life insurance and disability plans.
