Position: Assistant Planner
Agency: Lakes Region Planning Commission
Description: We are interested in a versatile, results-oriented self-starter to assist senior staff with regional transportation, hazard mitigation, land use, and economic development. Responsibilities include: research, assisting with data collection and analysis, writing reports, and coordinating activities. Preference for candidates with a professional interest in transportation and land use planning; must have working knowledge of relevant software.
Qualifications: Graduate degree in planning or related field, or undergrad with 1+ year of transportation planning-related experience; excellent report writing/presentation skills; working knowledge of MS Office; and enthusiasm for working with others. Proficiency with GIS/GPS and graphics programs also desired, as is a demonstrated commitment to the principles and practice of planning.
Salary: Hiring range from $29,000 - $33,000. Position benefits include annual, holiday, and sick leave.

Position: Coordinator, New Hampshire Energy & Climate Collaborative
Agency: NH Energy and Climate Collaborative
Description: Under supervision of a joint management team (Carbon Solutions New England/UNH and NH Department of Environmental Services) and using significant independent judgment, this position will be responsible for performing research, communicating with leaders in a range of sectors across the state, and providing program coordination for the NH Energy and Climate Collaborative as the Collaborative guides efforts to implement the recommendations of the 2009 NH Climate Action Plan. This position is funded via a grant from the NH Charitable Foundation for approximately 18 months. Extension of the position will be dependent of obtaining additional funding. Minimum annual salary is $44,279 plus benefits; first quartile salary is $50,220 plus benefits.

Position: Director of Planning and Community Development
Agency: Town of Farmington
Description:

The Town of Farmington, NH (pop 6,250) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Planning and Community Development. The Director will perform highly responsible administrative and professional work in directing the operations of the Department of Planning, Zoning and Codes Enforcement, including planning and land use, open space and conservation activities, building inspection activities, and health code/housing maintenance enforcement. The director will be responsible for the oversight of a full time planning secretary and a full time Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer and will report directly to the Town Administrator.

Qualifications: The desirable candidate must be energetic, motivated and willing to work on a wide range of planning and land use matters in a growing community. The Director must be skilled at communicating and interacting with the general public, developers, and state and local development organizations. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in municipal planning technology, public administration, building codes and ordinance administration and one year of professional experience. The Town prefers an individual with strong grant procurement and administration skills.
Salary: The salary range is D.O.E. Excellent benefits package and retirement plan 90% to 100% employer paid medical, 50% employer paid dental and 1xBAE life insurance coverage up to $50,000.

Position: Internship Available
Agency: Internship, Southern New Hampshire Planning Commission (SNHPC)
Description:

The Southern New Hampshire Planning Commission (SNHPC) is offering a research internship for an undergraduate or graduate student. The intern will work with the SNHPC staff on numerous related projects.

Qualifications: Applicant must be a continuing graduate or undergraduate student available to work at least 15 hours per week for 12 weeks. He/she shall have a good understanding and keen interest in planning and community development. Programs used are Microsoft, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ArcView 9.0. Excellent interpersonal and writing skills and high initiative also required. The applicant must provide their own transportation to and from the Planning Commission's office in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Salary: Salary is negotiable depending upon qualifications.

Description: Newly formed housing advocacy organization seeks a Director. The successful candidate will have strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills and will work closely with a governing board. Initial duties will include membership development and training of volunteer advocates.
Qualifications: Experience in communicating, organizing and affordable housing or policy development preferred.
