The ARNP Liaison Committee meets on a regular basis to review the applications of registered nurses seeking approval as advanced registered nurse practitioners when the documents do not clearly establish the eligibility of such nurses for ARNP licensure. They recommend to registered nurses who do not meet the criteria steps they might take to update their knowledge and skills in order to meet the requirements for licensure.
The Practice and Education Committee meets on a regular basis to discuss practice concerns referred to them by the Board of Nursing. The committee makes recommendations to the Board regarding such issues as the role of nurses in management of analgesia by catheter, the role of school nurses, licensed nursing assistant scope of practice, and general practice concerns such as delegation. The committee has been responsible for coordinating the "Frequently Asked Questions" pages on the Board of Nursing web site.
The Education Advisory Committee provides recommendations to the Board regarding nursing education, such as faculty prerequisites, curricular requirements, and rules relating to education. One individual, either facutly or chair, from each registered nurse education program is appointed to the committee. The committee meets monthly as needed.
