New Hampshire Board of Nursing
ARNP - Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner

ARNPs licensed in New Hampshire MUST maintain National Certification from one of the organizations listed below in order for their NH ARNP license to be considered valid.

An ARNP whose certification lapses is considered to have an invalid NH ARNP license and if s/he continues to practice in the ARNP role, is considered practicing without a license.

Recent legislation has removed the specialty types for ARNP licenses. We have received calls from pharmaceutical companies requesting the specialty type for individual licensees for purposes of making sample medications available. If you wish to be placed on a voluntary list located on this website please email to boardquestions@nursing.state.nh.us and we will add your name and business address.

Process for Unrestricting/Less Restriction of Formulary Agents

1. An ARNP or JHC member requests an agent be unrestricted or less restricted;

2. BOP representative supplies JHC members with current relevant scientific information detailing the agent;

3. The agent is placed on JHC agenda and posted on BON website 30 days prior to JHC meeting;

4. A simple majority will determine the formulary status of each agent reviewed. Agents will be designated as unrestricted, use with collaboration, use with consultation or restricted; and

5. Formulary status will be finalized upon approval of minutes at a subsequent JHC within 3 months.
