Title: Librarian III: Southern Maine Library District Consultant, Maine State Library
Duties: The Maine State Library (MSL) is dedicated to serving the information needs of all Maine citizens and to the support of all Maine libraries.
MSL has a vacancy for the Southern Maine District Consultant. This office is located at the Portland Public Library in Portland, ME and requires state-wide travel.
This is professional library work providing advisory and consulting services to Cumberland, York and selected Oxford county towns (Brownfield, Denmark, Fryeburg, and Lovell) in southern Maine.
These services include:
- giving professional advice regarding collection management as well as assistance with the development of library policies and personnel issues to public, school, academic, and special librarians, as well as library trustees and Friends of Libraries Groups;
- offering continuing education opportunities for professional growth to librarians;
- providing direction and organization management for both the District and its Executive Board;
- working closely with the other Regional District Consultants to plan statewide programs and expand information access and library resource sharing.
District Consultants report to the Director of Library Development
Qualifications: The minimum education/experience requirement for this position is a Masters Degree in Library Science (or the equivalent in directly related education and/or professional library work experience) and two (2) years of professional library work experience (a total of 8 years combination of education and/or experience is required). Preference will be given to those candidates who have experience conducting library related workshops at a regional meetings and library conferences and who have served on regional or state committees

Title: Customer Service Technician, Merrimack Valley Library Consortium, Massachusetts
Duties: The Merrimack Valley Library Consortium is looking for a service-oriented individual with excellent trouble-shooting, interpersonal, and communication skills. This is a temporary (9 m.) position that will focus on providing customer support to member library staff. This person will be the primary helpdesk contact and will also have significant responsibility for the design and configuration of the public catalog and network Web sites. There is potential for this to become a permanent position.
Qualifications:

Title: Customer Service Bibliographer, YBP Library Services, Contoocook
Duties: Provide support services to assigned library customers, primarily by responding to written and telephone inquiries; researching and addressing any problems and communicating all of YBP service capabilities, including firm and continuations orders and approval processes.
