Title: Library Clerk, Bedford Public Library

Duties: The Bedford Public Library seeks an enthusiastic, flexible, customer service oriented person to join our circulation team. The candidate will work at our busy circulation desk answering the phone, checking out books, taking reserves and requests from patrons, helping patrons locate materials and shelving books. The part-time position will require average 12-14 hours per week, including evenings and weekends in rotation.
 
Qualifications: Applicants must have proficient computer skills, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, the ability to multi-task and possess a friendly professional demeanor and enjoy reading. Knowledge of integrated library systems is a plus. Familiarity of the role of technology in children's services is also important.

Title: Library Assistant, Adult Services, Lane Memorial Library, Hampton

Duties:The Lane Memorial Library has a position open in the Adult Services Department for a part-time Library Assistant. This is a 17 hour per week position, with scheduled hours each Saturday. Our ideal applicant must possess good telephone skills, be able to interact pleasantly with public and co-workers, handle multiple tasks, have good computer skills, be able to accurately place materials in alphabetical and numerical order, and enjoy reading in a wide variety of genres.

The successful candidate's duties will include managing library materials circulation, answering the telephone, registering new patrons, assisting patrons with use of the library catalog and photocopiers, managing overdue notices, and providing reader's advisory services.

Qualifications: Applicants must have attained a high school diploma or GED and be able to bend and stretch while shelving books, stand for several hours at a time, and push and carry books throughout the building.

Title: Assistant Director, Kelly Library, Salem

Duties: The Kelley Library is looking for a dynamic, forward thinking, and experienced self-starter to fill the Assistant Director position. Responsibilities include execution of library policies; tracking staff time off and payroll oversight; maintenance of the collection through overseeing selection, weeding and development; preparation of reports; and development and implementation of special projects. The assistant director is in charge of programming, the volunteer program, and acts as liaison with IT. The assistant director works with the director in policy development; selection, supervision and evaluation of staff; long-range planning; community relations; and budget preparation. Ability to see the big picture, analyze current practice for effectiveness, and suggest new solutions a must.

Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of library experience with at least 2 years at a management level, with a sound knowledge of modern library principles; proven abilities in training staff; good communication skills; and ability to work positively with the public and staff. ALA accredited MLS required.
