For this summer's 8-week reading program, the children will be getting paper scoops of ice cream for every reading log they complete to fill up a two-foot paper ice cream cone (plain, not sugar) at the Front Desk. You might ask what does ice cream have to do with Australia? Why not koala bears in a eucalyptus tree or joeys in a kangaroo pouch? Well, did you know that Australians consume the largest amount of ice cream per capita of any other country in the world! What you learn when you're a librarian!
