The YouTube Diner Video program, co-sponsored by the Teen Scene of Laconia Public Library and the Laconia Historical and Museum Society, concluded with a screening on Wednesday, February 28th in the library's Laconia Rotary Hall Auditorium. Teens and adults created their own 3-minute video for Martin Sexton's song Diner, a song celebrating diners in America. The song was chosen in accord with the Laconia Museum and Historical Society's Diner History exhibit that is ongoing at Laconia Public Library. The attending crowd viewed all six video entries and cast votes for the winners on the spot. As votes were tallied, guests and contestants enjoyed pizza and soda.
Grand prize in the teen category was awarded to solo contestant Michael Engelsen.
Second prize was awarded to a family project starring Ashley, Gene, and James Carroll and Peyton Plante.
Third prize was awarded to brother and sister team David and Korie Toth.
Fourth prize was awarded to the dynamic duo of Mariah Lemay and Amelia Romprey.
In the adult category, Ralph Carroll and his Friendly's co-workers took home the top honor.
The adult grand prize money was generously donated by the winners to support the Laconia Museum and Historical Society's membership drive.
Runner-up was another solo artist, Aaron Corbin. Entries may be viewed online at www.laconiahistorical.org.
