PRESERVATION PLANNING WORKSHOPS FOR PUBLIC LIBRARIES
Preservation Planning Workshops for Public Libraries: Assessing Your Institution's Preservation Needs are full-day workshops that will be held on February 12, 2008 in Andover, MA and March 25, 2008 in Lancaster, NH.
They will be conducted by Donia Conn, field representative at the Northeast Document Conservation Center, www.nedcc.org in Andover, MA and are designed to help public library staff come to a better understanding of preservation problems they are likely to encounter in their institutions.
The critical role of the environment (temperature, relative humidity, natural and artificial light, and pollutants) will be explored, along with storage and handling procedures that can extend the life expectancy of collections.
The workshops are free, but you must register and are on a first come basis. To register go to Preservation Planning Registration.
Funding for these workshops has been supplemented by LSTA funds. |
