CHILIS Librarian of the Year Award ~ Do you know an outstanding children's librarian? If you do, then nominate her/him for the CHILIS Librarian of the Year Award, a new award developed by the CHILIS Board. Find more information as well as the nomination form on the CHILIS website at www.chilisnh.org.

Stephanie Piro, illustrator and staff member at the Goodwin Library, Farmington, has created a colorful, lively artwork for the N.H. Summer Reading Program 2008 G'Day for Reading. Librarians can find order forms for printed materials on the CHILIS website at www.chilisnh.org. All New Hampshire public libraries will receive a free manual and poster. Bookmarks, reading logs, certificates, and additional manuals and posters may be purchased by sending an order to Amy Lappin at the Lebanon Public Library. The deadline for printed materials orders is Friday, February 15, 2008. T-shirt orders will be announced at a later date.

CHILIS Spring Conference ~ The CHILIS Spring Conference is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Southern N.H. University, Manchester. The conference features the Kids, Books and the Arts 2008 showcase. Librarians will have the opportunity to see the ten artists chosen by the N.H. Summer Reading Committee for their thematic, lively programs for kids. The KBA Roster includes musicians, magicians, storytellers and live animal presenters who have all developed programs related to the G'Day for Reading summer reading theme. Kids, Books and the Arts 2008 grant application ~The Kids, Books and the Arts 2008 grant application for public libraries will be available in early March and will be due on Friday, April 11, 2008. These grants are given to libraries that need financial assistance in bringing a Kids, Books and the Arts presenter to their communities during the N.H. Summer Reading program.
