IN REMEMBRANCE

Muriel J. Brown, 82, of Agassiz Street, passed away on Saturday, June 16th, at Littleton Regional Hospital. She was the third child of William and Mildred Jobin and was born at Littleton Hospital on June 5, 1925.

Having been brought up in Bethlehem and residing there for most of her 82 years, she could always be counted on to come up with a name or recall a memory. Her community was important to her, and to that community she gave much time and talent. Her services included being a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, a member of Star Rebekah Lodge #84, a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service at Durrell Methodist Church, the Bethlehem Ski Club, PTA, Bethlehem Heritage Society, Bethlehem Redevelopment Association, Bethlehem Women's Civic Club and the Bethlehem Alumni Association. After retirement, she became a Littleton Regional Hospital volunteer in the Medical Library.

Outside of her immediate family her two greatest passions were the church and the library. She spent countless hours making sure the church fulfilled its mission of being a house pure in heart with open arms and a helping hand for all. She was the town librarian for 33 years, retiring at the age of 79. She always made sure the library had the newest books on the shelves and every nook and cranny had something of interest on it. She often delivered books to those who could not come to the library and looked forward to the return of the summer visitors.

She was predeceased by brothers, William R. Jobin and Willard Jobin; and a sister, Dorothea Adams.

Her family was her pride and joy. She celebrated their accomplishments with joy and was proud of their individual personalities and talents. Her family includes her loving husband of 63 years, Floyd Brown; their children, a sister of Reno, Nev.; a brother, of Yerrington, Nev.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, one may contribute to Durrell Memorial United Methodist Church, Bethlehem Public Library, North Country Home Health and Hospice Agency or Pastoral Care at Littleton Hospital.

A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, June 21st, at 11 a.m., at the Durrell United Methodist Church in Bethlehem, with Rev. Richard Hanson officiating.
