LIBRARY HAPPENINGS

CONCORD - Concord Reads is the "one community, one book" program supported by the Concord Public Library Foundation, the Concord Monitor and the Concord Public Library.

For this sixth year of the program, we're asking Concord to read the non-fiction book Nickel and Dimed by journalist Barbara Ehrenreich. New Hampshire is gearing up for the presidential primaries, and one of the main issues for 2008 will be how regular folks make ends meet. Ms. Ehrenreich went undercover and lived for a year as a low-income worker, and wrote about her experiences in the bestselling Nickel and Dimed.

The Reads committee is planning several programs for this fall culminating in a gala event with Barbara Ehrenreich herself, who will come to Concord on November 8th to talk about her book and take questions from the community. You may follow our progress in planning these events at the Concord Public Library website: www.onconcord.com/library.

LINCOLN - The Lincoln Public Library is located on Church Street in Lincoln, N.H. Check out our books, magazines, and movie selection. Learn about the great tools we offer, especially computers, wireless Internet, and brand-new downloadable books from the Internet and MP3 players.

Take part in one of our many program events, including Book Discussion Groups, Game Nights, Summer Reading Programs for adults, as well as children, and Cultural Arts Events, as well as many other events. We also have a yearly Plant Sale on Memorial Day at Soldier's Park in North Woodstock, as well as a Book and Bake Sale at the library on Saturday, July 14th and all proceeds go to financing most of the library's programs. The library brings cultural enrichment programs to all adults and families in the community.
