STRAIGHT FORWARD
by Kristen Vermilyea Harbaugh
Communications & Event Coordinator
NH Department of Cultural Resources
The 1940's film-noir thriller, Straight Forward, shot entirely in Pembroke and Concord, N.H. screened to a sold-out crowd on March 15th, downstairs at The Barley House.
The film, which won "Best N.H. Film" at the 2006 SNOB (Somewhat North of Boston) Film Festival is still a work in progress and is currently going through what local producer and star of the film, Kristen Vermilyea hopes is the final edit.
When the film is finished, Vermilyea plans on having a large, local screening with all those that helped make the film possible in attendance - from Concord restaurants and hotels to residents with period cars, costumes and many more - as well as the cast and crew.
Vermilyea (whose married name, Harbaugh, is how she is known at her job) works as the Communications and Event Coordinator for the Department of Cultural Resources. As soon as the film is available on DVD, it will be available at the State Library. |
