Newly restored wall sconces and standing lamps (torchieres) have returned to the State Library entry hall. Made by Archer & Pancoast Manufacturing of New York City for the State Library in time for the 1895 opening of the building, these items have been in storage for many decades.
Their restoration, undertaken by Conant Custom Brass of Burlington, Vermont, has been a labor of love.
The restored items are on public display at the State Library. Their restoration was made possible by Conservation License Plate (Moose Plate) funds.
