IN REMEMBRANCE

EDITH C. KIMBALL, 94, of Chapel Street, died on Friday, January 5, 2007 at Littleton Regional Hospital, in Littleton after a brief illness.

She and her identical twin sister, Edna, were born on March 13, 1912, in Cambridge, MA, daughters of the late Walter and Catherine (Small) Harris. She was educated in the schools of Cambridge, MA, and was a graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School.

Edith was a homemaker who, in early years, worked in the Harvard College Library and the New Hampshire State Library. In earlier years, she was a Girl Scout Leader, having achieved their highest award as an Eagle Girl Scout.

She was a lifelong resident of Union, an active community member with a strong focus on the Union Congregational Church, Deaconess Emeritus, supervisor of the Sunday School for many years and a member of the Woman's Fellowship. She was an active member of the Unity Chapter #21 Order of the Eastern Star and Reunion Grange #303 of Union.

She was predeceased by the late George B. Kimball, who died in 1992, a granddaughter, Heather Lee Griffith; her twin sister, Edna, and son-in-law Richard Perles. She is survived by her children Janice Griffith Perles, of Atlanta, Ga., Catherine Lynne & husband, Douglas Greene, of Taunton, MA, Weston Girffith, Sr, and wife, Nancy of Bethlehem, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a step-daughter, three step-grandchildren, 9 step grant-grandchildren, and 12 step great-great grandchildren.

Calling hours were held at the Peaslee Funeral Home, Farmington; funeral services here held on January 9th at the Union Congregational Church. A reception was held at the Wakefield Resource Center.

Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Union Congregational Church, c/o Carolyn Pike, Main Street, Union, N.H. 03887 or to the Salvation Army.
